TTM Worker is the entry level qualification for people joining the TTM industry. Temporary traffic management (TTM) Worker Workshop is for workers who assist with TTM under the supervision of TMO-P or STMS-P. It is a 1 day workshop & On-Road Practical Assessment which includes: • Knowledge of TTM Worker’s role and responsibility • Practical skills to perform TTM Worker’s duties.

What is covered in the TTM Worker delivery by TMA

Need PPE Gear to complete this workshop level (hard hat, safety boots, Hi-vis vest, gloves, safety glasses, long pants)

  • Workshop Theory Course delivery (about 4 hours) – Task 1
  • Practical Assessment (Safe Environment – in yard/parking)  Task 2
  • Practical On-Road Assessment under an approved 2-man Stop Go operation TMP (set up, maintain, and take down) Task 3
  • TMA will provide L1 Truck, TTM Gear, Approved TMP and RCA Deployment for the delivery of Task 3
  • Unit Standard 31958 cost included @ $6.50 x 5 Credits = $32.50 + GST
  • Sign off by TTM Mentor & approved Assessor for Unit Standard 31958 and uploaded to RoL (Connexis/NZQA)

Unit Standards: 

  • US31958 - Explain the role of and operate as a TTM worker on the worksite under temporary traffic management 

Compulsory Proof of Identification requirement for enrolment:

  • National Student Number (NZQA RoL) or
  • Passport (current) or
  • Birth Certificate or
  • Note - Driver License not acceptable as proof of identification

What to bring:

  • Bring reading spectacles if required.
  • Full PPE (Hard Hat, Gloves, Safety Boots, Reflective Vest (L/Sleave), Long Trouser, Glasses (optional)
  • Water Bottle / Rainsuit (weather permitted) / Warm Jacket
  • Photo of each attendee will be taken at start of course for ID Card

 

Parking & Train Instructions:

  • Park on site at the office (Limited spots available) OR any on street parking (free). 
  • Take note of possible Event Signs (Fridays) 3pm limit
  • Penrose Train Station across the road from Office
  • Bus Stop Routes 7627/ 7624 / 7997 / 8692 in front of the office

  • Will be provided for full day workshops

Qualification Obtained

  • Unit Standard 31958 accreditation against NZQA Record of Learning

Next Step

  • Unit Standard 31959 accreditation for TMO-Non-Practicing
  • Unit Standard 31960 accreditation for TMO-Practicing (booked by appointment) - assessments@tmacademy.co.nz
  • The applicant will be assessed by a TTM Assessor on the practical components of the role.

The TTMW is not a Warrant.  This is a Unit Standard Accreditation that will be loaded against your Record of Learning (ROL) and does not expire.
