[C4] Site Traffic Management Specialist (ABC) Combined Non Practicing - STMS (ABC) -NP (2-days) US31962

The 2 day combined workshop provides the base knowledge for working on category A & B & C road environments. Any person wishing to work on category A & B & C roads as an onsite STMS, or any person wishing to work on Category A or B or C roads while fulfilling one of the following roles; Traffic Operations Manager, TTM Mentor, TTM Assessor, TTM Trainer, TTM lanner, TMP Approver, TTM Auditor, Traffic Management or Corridor Manager

Description

 This 2 day STMS (A & B & C ) Combined workshop provides the base knowledge for working on category A & B & C road environments.

 Topics include:

  • deliver site safety briefings and inductions
  • calculate layout distances for category A & B road environments
  • set up, maintain, and remove TTM for static operations (shoulder closures, two-way two-lane closures and multi-lane closures)
  • complete mobile operations and closures
  • set up, maintain, and remove TTM for semi-static operations and closures
  • conduct special activities.

 Compulsory Proof of Identification requirement for enrolment:

  • National Student Number (NZQA RoL) or
  • Passport (current) or
  • Birth Certificate
  • Note - Driver License not acceptable as proof of identification

What to bring:

  • Bring reading spectacles if required.
  • Casual dress code (NO WORK BOOTS)
  • Water Bottle / Rainsuit (weather permitted) / Warm Jacket
  • Photo of each attendee will be taken at start of course for ID Card

Unit standard

There are 2 optional unit standards that can be awarded to an STMS (regardless of the category of road the STMS is warranted for). These are:

  • STMS Non-practicing - US 31962: Explain the requirements for the worksite under temporary traffic management for a road environment as defined in CoPTTM
  • STMS Practicing - US 31963: Operate as a practising Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) on a road environment as defined in CoPTTM.
